Cascade Bank earns the position of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County partner.
Cascade Bank earns the position of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County partner.

December 15th, 2006- Big Brothers Big Sisters recognizes Cascade Bank’s dedication to children throughout Snohomish County. Cascade Bank supports and encourages employees to mentor so much so that Cascade Bank has earned the position of the mentoring agency’s Partnership List.

Cascade Bank, a local bank with locations around the greater Seattle area, joins international aerospace giant Boeing, Everett Clinic, Everett Public Schools and Snohomish County as a supporting partner.

Cascade Bank, together with other partners, have employed 58 “Bigs” who volunteered an estimated 4,176 hours directly impacting the life of a child. These hours have been spent over pizza, homework, and even public speaking engagements. The estimated financial value these employees have joyfully volunteered is over $70,000.

Steve Erickson, the Commercial Real Estate Loan officer for Snohomish County, volunteers on the BBBS of Snohomish County Board of Directors, as well as with his Little Brother weekly in Middle School. “Mentoring is so important, and has such a significant impact,” he said at a luncheon for agency staff.

Big Brothers Big Sisters, a branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County, offer programs to create one-to-one mentoring relationships. School-based programs join the “Big” and “Little” at a local elementary school once a week for lunch. The 2006 school year began with a new Site-based opportunity after classes, once a week for an hour between 3-6pm. The Community-based program is the traditionally know nights and weekends opportunity for “matches” to enjoy activities throughout the community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County proudly honors Cascade Bank and Cascade Financial Corporation for the deep impact to brighten the lives of so many children.
