Liberty Nissan, a Chicago Nissan dealership, has received the pricing announcement from Nissan for the U.S. market 2011 GT-R sports car model that is on sale at the dealership today. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2011 Nissan GT-R is $84,060 including taxes, titles and license fees. Nissan has also announced that this year, the base model of the 2011 GT-R has been eliminated, leaving the GT-R as the only model available this year. While other Nissan dealers in Chicago may not carry this premium sports car, Liberty Nissan is one of the selected certified retailers that will have the 2011 Nissan GT-R in stock, while supplies last. The 2011 GT-R sees some important changes during its second update since the model was launched in 2007, including a retuned suspension for a smoother ride and an enhanced passenger experience. Chicago Nissan dealerships have noted that other new features on the GT-R include auto on/off headlights, speed-sensitive windshield wipers, an iPod interface and streaming audio via Bluetooth and DVD playback. Also, the navigation system has been improved with the integration of XM NavTraffic to help the driver find the fastest route and NavWeather to predict the weather conditions along the route. Finally, small cosmetic improvements to the exterior include slightly darker wheel center caps and a double clear coat on the front and rear fascias that improve the look of the exterior auto body. As test drivers at Nissan dealers in Chicago have come to expect, the 2011 model features the same, powerful 485-horsepower 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine as the older GT-R models, connected to a 6-speed, dual-clutch transmission that completes the driving experience.
