04 May 2010 – Dedicated consumer goods recycling website Recycle.co.uk has re-launched its online service to offer people an enhanced website for the recycling of consumer goods. The online specialist allows Brits to advertise items that they no longer need in a marketplace where people who might need them can get hold of them. The site also helps people to make money by getting rid of mobile phones they no longer want.
Users of the site can find numerous kinds of consumer products which they can recycle, ranging from white goods and home handheld electronics to technology kit and more. Any consumer who has items they have no further use for can simply locate people that need such goods and as such don’t have to just throw it in a landfill. Recycle.co.uk has a commitment to helping lessen landfill usage in the UK.
Consumers are able to advertise items for recycling on the website free of charge, with the revamped site giving people a more in-depth online service than before. Users are now able to add in their own personal telephone number as a contact reference as well as signing up for email alerts on items they are interested in.
People can also structure searches for items on the site to find items closest to where they live. So say a consumer is interested in mobile phone recycling, they can quickly and easily find phones on offer near their house.
Gareth Robinson, spokesperson for Recycle.co.uk, said, “Our first year has been great but now we’re taking the operation to the next level. Recycle.co.uk can now help people to put unwanted household items to better use other than dumping them in a landfill while our mobile phone scheme helps people to generate some money for themselves off the back of unwanted technological items.”
