All those who have enjoyed the Choir's concerts love their terrific sound - and just how much fun it is to sing along with the Choir at the 'afterglow'. London, October 09, 2008 -- Local charity expects to raise £5,000+ at its concert in Leatherhead, Surrey, with an expected sell-out performance. The internationally renowned London Welsh Male Voice Choir, just back from a USA tour, will be performing at The Leatherhead Theatre on Saturday 1st November and proceeds from the event will go to the Surrey branch of children’s charity, Wooden Spoon. All those who have enjoyed the Choir's concerts love their terrific sound - and just how much fun it is to sing along with the Choir at the 'afterglow'. Over the past 10 years Surrey Spoon has supported projects in 18 different locations including Woodlands School and the Trinity Family Centre in Leatherhead, providing funding of over £550,000 towards buildings and equipment to enhance the lifestyle of children and young people who are socially, physically or mentally disadvantaged. David Jackson, Chairman of Surrey Spoon, said, “We’re expecting that the night will be a sell-out as not only will it be great fun, but also very worthwhile as all the money raised will be used to provide much needed funding to local projects. Over the last 25 years Wooden Spoon has donated over £14 million to different children’s projects throughout the country.” The performance starts at 7.30 and it is suggested that you eat beforehand as the audience is invited to meet – and sing along with – the choir in the bar afterwards. Tickets cost £17.50 and are available from the theatre box office or from David Jackson, 8 The Ridgeway, Fetcham, KT22 9AZ (Cheques payable to Wooden Spoon) – see ‘Ticket Information’ on the Choir website at www.londonwelshmvc.org for details.
